How much do we pay?
Mining royalties are a type of tax that is paid on production of certain minerals, including gold.
Waihi Gold pays company tax and significant local business rates to the Hauraki District Council. The company also pays the other taxes that are generated via employees such as PAYE and fringe benefit tax.
Over the past six years we have paid an average of $5.7M in company tax and $1.3M in royalties per year.
